Over the weekend I found out one of my good friends is expecting a baby...and another one of my good friends died. It's amazing how you can feel joy and sorrow in the same moment. . .how you can feel two completely different emotions simultaneously. Though these things are opposites they brought me to the same conclusion. Life is precious. . .meaningful. . .valuable. The start of life and the finish of life changes those closest to it forever. These monumental events and all moments in between can not be taken for granted.
I thank God for my life and the lives of my Wife and children. Congratulations Eric, your world is about to be reborn and I know you're ready for the journey. Tone Bing, you were one of the realest, coolest, funniest dudes I ever had the pleasure to call a close friend. My prayers go up for your family. you are missed.

It's obvious to me now (more than ever) that if I want more work in this biz I'll have to move to California. The east coast is a dry, desolate wasteland for artists. Nobody actually wants to be a starving artist...I wanna be an overly fed, morbidly obese artist. Is that too much to ask? i don't think so. Hollywood, here I come. . .
These first two were commissions and the chick with the coffee cup was a warm-up dedicated to a friend who bestowed the joy of starbucks upon me. Starbucks is from Heaven....they should serve it in Church.
It's quarter to 1 in the morning. . .I'm just sittin' down to work. It's been a long weekend. It's been a long month, actually. It's been one of those long, dangerous months. You know, when you don't know if you're gonna make it to the next month. . .like you might not come out of this one alive. Yeah...one of those months. Good times.
